CARTHAGE, ILL. -- Families in the Carthage area had a fun-filled day of arts and crafts Saturday.
The University of Illinois Extension Center hosted its annual Hancock County Family Fair. This year's theme was "South of the Border." The event played host to about 200 people.
"Parents and their children can walk around and each of the exhibitors today have a hands on activity they can participate in, so there's a number of different things. You can make a bag of healthy snacks, make a little tambourine and even little flowers you can make. There's just a whole bunch of activities that families can take part in," said Melita Finney, the communications health director for the Hancock County Health Dept.
The Hancock County Health Department also collected non-perishable food items that will later be donated to the local food pantry.
