QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy Public Library is giving you a chance to Love Your Library.
That's name of the new fundraising campaign.
The goal is to raise 130 thousand dollars that would be used to furnish room in the new addition.
The Mary Weems Barton Quincy Public Library Foundation is in charges of the effort.
The group announced Tuesday morning that it is halfway to its goal.
The renovations include a new entrance and expanded rooms which adds up to better access for patrons.
Executive Director Nancy Dolan says, "It will be more accessible for all. We've had many times where our programs were full , we had to turn people away. With the new expanded spaces we hope that won't happen anymore. And it will be more accessible for handicapped as well."
The new furniture would go into a larger children's department, a teen zone area, new study and meeting rooms and a puppet/story time room.
Starting with one dollar you can donate any amount you would like.
Those who donate a 100 dollars will get their name or the name of the loved one on a brick that will be placed outside the new library entrance.
