QUINCY, ILL. -- For twenty years, Operation Snowball has helped students in Adams County stay drug free.

Operation Snowflake is part of that program.

It's an alcohol and drug prevention program taught by high school students.

This year's theme is "20 Years and Still on the Drug-Free Path".

Friday, more than 100 seventh graders learned about the importance of staying away from drugs.

Throughout the years, the program has evolved into more than just drug prevention.

Students were taught why it's important not to form cliques.

"We mix them up and put them with different people. They're already making new friends, and some of their comments already say that when they go back, they want to include other people that aren't always included," said group leader Jane Morrison.

Other workshops included having healthy relationships and how to improve self-image.
