QUINCY, ILL. -- The national unemployment rate is slowly but surely decreasing, now standing at nine percent.

Quincy locals are hoping to lower that number even further. Hundreds of job seekers attended a career fair at the Quincy Civic Center Saturday, sponsored by the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce.

With resumes in hand, close to 600 people visited with the available 24 employers. Staffing agencies were also on hand for people looking beyond the jobs offered at Saturday's job fair.
