Bottoms road between Hull and Hannibal

HANNIBAL, MO -- Wednesday afternoon, an interesting photo was captured by our own Melissa Shriver on the Bottoms Road between Hull and Hannibal. It is a spectacular sight!
In the distance a ways, towards the middle of the photograph, you can see fog. This is a special type of fog that forms when warm, moist air blows over a cold surface. South winds passing over our snow cover is enough to do the trick!
The cold snow cools the warm air to the dew point, and thus condensation occurs so that we get tiny water droplets suspended in the air.
We will continue to see some of this fog through Thursday morning.
