This morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. students were evacuated at Monroe School.

There was no danger to the kids, but they wanted to play it safe.

A line to a pressurized hot water tank burst, causing it to empty and flood a hallway. Because a natural gas line was near, school officials decided to evacuate merely as a precautionary measure.

The fire department arrived and officially gave the "all clear."

Mopping took about a half-hour and then students were let back in.
