QUINCY, ILL. -- It was a good day for local law enforcement.
The Quincy Exchange Club honored several people as it handed out its 45 annual Law Officer of the Year award.
Jeff Nevin from the Quincy Police Department Nevin from the Quincy Police Department is this year's Law Officer of the Year.
Quincy Police Chief Rob Copley also recognized Adams County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Fred Kientzle and Deputy Joe Lohmeyer for their efforts in arresting a murder suspect.
The Exchange Club also awarded Greg Arens with the Citizen of the Year Award.
He along with Chief Deputy Kientzle rescued a boater who had gone through the Quincy Lock and Dam last year.
