QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy Medical Group's Gold Medal Moves program came to an end Saturday.

The six week program was meant to motivate people in the community to get out there and choose your move.

The original weight loss goal was set at 1,000 pounds.

Saturday morning, the total weight loss was revealed.

"As I was computing the results last night, because people weighed in all throughout the week, I sat there, and I was extremely happy. I get just emotional because so many people say they can't do it and to see people do it, is just amazing," said Carrie Kimber.

More than 1,200 pounds were shed by people in the program over the past six weeks. The biggest loser of the group was Darren Raab. He lost 26 pounds. He says it wasn't all about winning for him.

"It's nice to compare myself to others, but it's all of myself. This is just kind of the icing on the cake. The fact that I've lost the weight is the important thing. The fact that I beat others, is secondary by a lot. The fact that I'm getting healthy is the most important thing for me," said Darren Raab.

"Hopefully we've shown people they can do it, and they'll see the effects and they'll continue doing it, Not only for themselves, but for their kids, and their neighbors in our community. These people are role models now. They've done something really fabulous," said Kimber.

Bob Gough from QuincyNews.org came in second place at 22 pounds.

The second runner up might seem like a familiar face.

Dana Herring was one of the three sisters we followed during the program.

She also lost more than 20 pounds in six weeks.

"My main goal was just to start moving more and hopefully everything else will just fall in place. So, hopefully with the weather getting nicer, we talked about walking outside more, being able to enjoy the outdoors, but just to continue the exercise," said Dana Herring.

We caught up with the other two sisters.

They both agree that this has given them the push they needed to start working out again.

"Just to continue with it. Just trying to figure out what we can continue doing, and trying to continue eating better and just do keep up with it," said Julie Herring.

"With the nice weather coming up, I think that will help because we'll want to get outside and do things," said Katrina Kroeger.

"When we started the program, I was like, five times a week? I don't know if I have time for that, but we did. So just knowing that we can get out there and do it is the best thing," said Kroeger.

Carrie Kimber with Quincy Medical Group also said she hopes to do this program again at the start of next year.
