Prosecution testimony continued Friday morning in the sexual abuse and drug case of former student teacher Darrold Frisbie.

The jury Friday morning heard from Quincy Police Detective Travis Wiemelt and Crime Scene Technician Emily Sandrock. Wiemelt said he had assisted Detective Kathy Martin with the search of the Frisbie residence for items related to the alleged sexual encounter between the victim and Mr. Frisbie. Sandrock told of obtaining court-ordered DNA samples from the defendent in the Adams County Jail.

WTAD, tells KHQA that also testifying were two juvenile girls, friends of the victim, who were aged 14 and 16 at the time of the alleged incident on April 10th.

Both girls told Adams County State's Attorney Jon Barnard they were present at a gathering at Frisbie's house on april 9th where beer was drunk and marijuana was smoked. They said they stayed about an hour and then left.

They also testified that the victim had stopped by Frisbie's house that evening, stayed a few minutes and left, but had no knowledge of the reason for his visit.

The girls both told Defense Attorney Riff Scholz that the victim tended to exaggerate and in their opinions was not very honest or truthful.

The younger of the girls said she had been disappointed to find that the victim had returned to using drugs within two weeks after returning from rehab.

The older girl said she was not as familiar with the victim but that he was friends with her former boyfriend and sometimes talked with him while she was present. She said the victim "was always talking about sexual stuff." she added the victim was not one of her favorite people.

Also testifying Friday morning was Illinois State Crime Lab Forensic Drug Chemist Hope Irwin.

She told Barnard plant residue taken from Frisbie's home had been identified as cannabis, and drug residue in a spoon and in a small baggie was methamphetamine.

Irwin testified under cross examination that the total amount of cannabis was less than 0.05 grams, and the meth residue was not weighable and could tell how long it had been in the containers.

The trial continues Friday afternoon with DNA experts from the Illinois State Crime Lab set to testify.

Frisbie was working as a student teacher at Adams School when he was arrested in April of 2010.

UPDATED: February 23 at 3:28 p.m.

The trial of Darrold Wayne Frisbie entered its second day on Wednesday.

Frisbie faces a variety of drug charges as well as criminal sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Our news partner, WTAD, tells KHQA that the victim, who was 16-years-old at the time of the alleged offense testified Wednesday morning.

Under questioning by Adams County States Attorney Jon Barnard, the victim admitted to using drugs and alcohol and to having been treated for addiction.

He said he began visiting Frisbie's house with friends, where they were allowed to drink, smoke, and use drugs, including marijuana and Adderol.

The victim said on April 10th, 2010, he was the only person with Frisbie at the home. Frisbie allegedly told the victim he did not usually have an interest in 16-year-olds, but found the victim "intriguing and intelligent." Frisbie then allegedly talked the victim into a sexual encounter.

Afterwards the victim was directed to take some Valium to calm his nerves, but instead of drugs in the drawer Frisbie indicated, the victim found only two guns wrapped in a cloth.

He testified that he felt that was a warning from Frisbie, who also allegedly told him that many of his friends were loyal to Frisbie and would not "take kindly" to any betrayal.

The victim said after talking with a friend on April 11th, he went to the Quincy Police Department about the alleged incident.

Testimony continues Wednesday afternoon. The trial is expected to last through the end of the week.
