QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy residents will see even lower taxes than they thought in the fiscal year 2011. That was decided at Tuesday night's city council meeting.

The council approved an additional abatement to the lax levy. That will reduce the city's tax levy by an extra $165,000 and take about another three percent off the city's portion of its tax bill.

"The amount's not too significant, but it does take the total tax dollars and reduces them below last year's levy," said Quincy Comptroller Ann Scott.

Tuesday night's vote means more money in everyone's pockets.
