Diabetic reaction causes driver to collide with Colchester Library

48-year-old Jeff L. Roberts of rural Colchester, lost control of his pickup truck on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at approximately 4:30 p.m. due to a diabetic reaction.

His vehicle struck the brick wall of the Colchester Library building in the 200 block of East Macomb Street in Colchester.

Roberts was pinned inside his vehicle which had come to rest partially inside the building.

After being removed from the truck, Roberts was treated at the scene by Colchester Fire Rescue personnel and transported to the McDonough District Hospital by ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

He was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt.
