KEOKUK, IOWA -- Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack toured Southeastern Community College in Keokuk this afternoon.
He serves on the Higher Education Subcommittee.
Loebsack met with students and teachers to discuss the importance of investing in education and job training.
He says he disagrees with the cuts made to Pell grants and other financial aid funding.
"I think in the short term, having any kind of drastic cuts at all doesn't make any sense. Especially when we're at he beginning of what is a pretty fragile recovery. I think those kinds of cuts are really not appropriate at this time. I think they jeopardize the economic recovery," said Congressman Dave Loebsack.
Loebsack also toured SECC's West Burlington Campus.
