QUINCY, ILL. -- Many people in Quincy woke up Monday morning to blinking clocks.

That’s because a tree fell into transmission lines near the Burton substation.

Adams Electric Cooperative Marketing Manager Bill Stalder says about 4,800 people lost power.

Crews worked throughout the night at the Adams, Kellerville, Quincy, Burton and St. Anthony substations.

By 9:30 Monday morning, most of the power has been restored.
