PITTSFIELD, ILL. -- Whether you are in the market for some great home decorations with a country flair, or the name of your favorite local team embroidered on shirt, Sassy Stitches in Pittsfield is the place to go.
There's more than stitching going on at Pittsfield's newest business.
Sassy Stitches located at 116 Monroe Street on the square in Pittsfield opened up in September and it's already become a favorite stop for downtown shoppers.
The store is divided into two parts.
The front part of the store features items to decorate your home, many of them made by artisans in the tri-states.
The second half of store features clothing, bags and items that highlight the stores other focus ... Embroidery.
Owner Marsha Kelley says she keeps quite busy decorating all sorts of clothing items with the names of favorite local sports teams and other things.
She also makes these T-shirt quilts which have become very popular.
Marsha says it was really important for her to open up a store front in the community.
She says, "You don't have the gift stores like you normally do. Used to go downtown and have, you know, just go in every little store and there'd be all kinds of them. Now you don't see that and I think it's an asset."
