All students will get MAC computers

DONELLSON, IOWA -- High school students at Central Lee will have to come up with something better than "my dog ate my homework".

That's because dogs won't be able to stomach a whole MACBook.

Each student at Central Lee will soon receive a laptop.

The school plans to purchase 330 laptops for students in 9-12th grades.

The laptops will be school property, and students will have to leave them behind when they graduate.

Filters will be loaded onto the computers.

The school is paying for the laptops from a one-cent sales tax generated by the state.

On the flipside of this issue, some schools across the nation have not seen the advantage of laptops in the classroom.  Click here to read a story from the New York Times.
