The Quincy Park District Board of Commissioners approved a maintenance dredging bid Wednesday, March 9th for the Art Keller Marina and the boat launch ramps in Kesler Park.

Usually the district performs maintenance dredging at those areas when needed, especially after flooding.

However, the amount of dredging required could be extensive and exceed the district's bid limit.

Competitive bids were solicited for an hourly rate for "as needed" mechanical dredging.

One bid was received from Canton Marine Towing Co., with an hourly rate of $375.

In the 2011 budget, $30,000 is authorized for as-needed dredging.
