HANNIBAL, MO. -- Three Hannibal High School students got the experience of a lifetime Saturday evening. Senior David Colborn on trumpet, Senior Chris DeCorte on saxophone and Sophomore Matt Karr on trombone performed with the Army Jazz Ambassadors of Washington D.C The three students performed a piece called, “In the Mood.” Hannibal High School's Studio Jazz Ensemble opened the show.

The Army Jazz Ambassadors play all over the world. Internationally it has performed in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Japan and the Republic of India. The Jazz Ambassadors band is directed by Chief Warrant Officer Gordon Kippola. Lead vocalist is Master Sgt. Marva Lewis. Many members of the Jazz Ambassadors also are composers and arrangers. Its repertoire includes big band swing, bebop, contemporary jazz, popular tunes and dixieland.

The Hannibal Courier-Post sponsored the concert.
