QUINCY, ILL. -- Bowling teams took to the lanes Sunday afternoon for a good cause to help out the Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Illinois.

The 19th annual Bowl for Kids Sake kicked off at Casino Lanes.

Organizers say this is the biggest fundraiser of the year.

Team numbers are down this year from last, but program director Kathy Brink says they'll still do well.

She's hoping they will raise twenty-five thousand dollars this year.

"It is so important for these kids. I feel so lucky to work in that office where we get to hear the stories of the kids because it really does impact these kids even being in the program for one year makes a difference," said program director Kathy Brink.

The money raised will be used for recruitment of volunteers and children, monthly activities, case management, and supervising the matches.
