Update: Some Missouri towns in our viewing area seeing flood warnings
FT. MADISON, IOWA -- UPDATED: March 31 at 11:42 a.m.
There are no immediate reasons to be concerned right now, but the National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for some Missouri towns in our viewing area.
Wednesday, the river was above the technical flood stage in some areas. Forecasters expect the Mississippi to get about 2 feet above flood stage in some areas by Monday.
Those towns include Hannibal, Canton, Louisiana and Clarksville.
We checked the National Weather Service website and here's what we found as of 4 a.m. Thursday morning.
In Hannibal the river is at 16.76 feet ... flood stage is 16 feet. In Canton the river is at 13.99 feet ... flood stage is 14 feet. In Louisiana the river is at 15.37 feet ... flood stage is 15 feet. And ... in Clarksville the river is at 25.66 feet ... flood stage is 25 feet.
Illinois and Iowa counties along the Mississippi and Illinois river are also at or above flood stage.

The National Weather Service says parts of the Midwest are likely to see major flooding this spring.
In a report released last week, NWS forecasters predict major flooding along the Red River and the upper Mississippi River. The area that's included along the Mississippi River extends from St. Paul MN south to St. Louis.
Right now officials in Davenport Iowa are beginning the process of protecting their downtown area from the potential for major flooding.
They're beginning to fill sandbags and organize volunteers.
Friday, KHQA's Jim Whitfield is talking to Steve Cirinna who is the director of the Lee County Iowa Emergency Management Agency in Fort Madison.
We'll find out from him what we should be expecting when it comes to flooding and what the National Weather Service is saying about flooding on the Mississippi.
