FT. MADISON, IOWA -- A Keokuk man has died as a result of an industrial accident at Pinnacle Foods in Ft. Madison.

Brian Stice, 31, was cleaning an auger when he suddenly got caught in the machine early Saturday morning.

Capt. Bruce Gustafson with the Fort Madison Police Department says first responders received the call around 5:30 a.m. asking for immediate assistance. Upon arrival, crews assisted in a recovery effort.

The Lee County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy sometime this weekend. The DeJong’s Funeral Home in Keokuk is handling arrangements.
