Scooters are a good alternative to traditional transportation
The popularity of scooters is once again on the rise as the price of gas inches closer to four dollars a gallon.
This is the scene at T-N-T Action Sports in Quincy as you walk in the front door.
It's just not motorcycles, but scooters that people are asking about.
"We're selling these to 16 and 17 year old beginners. We're also selling them to 65 and 75 year olds seniors. That are riding them around town to do their errands instead of filling up and taking the Buick out and going to the grocery store," said Smith
They cost anywhere between two thousand and five thousand dollars. And they get about a hundred miles to the gallon.
Smith says that people who buy and operate a scooter the is under 50 cc's, don't have to get a change in their drivers license. But if you get one that is over 50 cc-'s, you have to take the written and driving test for operating a motorcycle.
