HANNIBAL, MO. -- The City of Hannibal is now enforcing their new local ordinance on commercial vehicle parking on city streets.
The new enforcement began on April 1st and it will be unlawful for commercial vehicles to park on residential streets, except when providing local services.
In the new city parking ordinance, a commercial vehicle is defined as any "bus, tractor, farm machinery, aircraft, semi-tractor trucks, semi-tractor trailers, truck beds mounted on chassis, trash or sanitation trucks, mobile homes, farm or livestock trailers, commercial equipment licensed in excess of 18,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, unpermitted dumpsters or demolition trailers, commercial fleet vehicles exceeding two in number, boats or personal watercraft, recreational vehicles, golf carts, go carts, trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, campers, camper shells, wheeled towing frames, mowers and devices of similar scale."
