Mark Twain Lake in Ralls County, Missouri has received a federal grant to make improvements.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will use the $75,210 for restrooms in the John Spalding Recreation Area as part of a trail project.

Only three trail projects in northern Missouri will receive funding through the federal Recreational Trails Program and Mark Twain Lake's is one of them.

Located on the north side of the lake, the hiking trail and horseback trail runs approximately 30 miles depending which route you take.
