CAMP POINT, ILL -- All week the pre-K classes at Camp Point Elementary school have been in the spotlight.

It's all part of the Week of the Young Child celebration.

Wednesday the kids had a parade down the street, playing instruments and holding homemade signs.

Once they made it to the downtown area, school superintendent Martin Cook read a proclamation and a story to the kids.

Pre-K is a vital program for young kids and while many lessons are taught, the kids seem to enjoy the songs they learn the most.

The kids also made displays that are featured at area business in Camp Point, Golden and Clayton in honor of the special week.
