WARSAW, ILL. -- The Warsaw Community Coalition is teaming up with the students of the Warsaw High School Environmental Club to help "Clean Up" the entryways into Warsaw.
They will be focusing on the new Great River Road spur coming from Hamilton to Warsaw starting at the Alice Kibbe Life Science Station city limits. As time and weather allows they'll keep going.
You can help clean up Warsaw, too!
Groups of volunteers began assembling Friday at 9 a.m. at the Warsaw Brewery parking lot and you'll be able to find them there again on Saturday.
Volunteers told KHQA's Lindsey Boetsch, "We've got to start somewhere!"
The Environmental Club, sponsored by Missy Finch (WHS Science teacher) has been recycling and cleaning up since its inception.
Representatives Cassie Weigand and Joe Clarke say, "If you can, 'walk your block green!' ... it's the latest thing! Take a trash bag with you and walk around your own block. You'll be amazed at what you find ... on the roads and within yourself! Tell me you don't feel good about it when you're done!"
The groups currently cleaning up are being provided with trash bags and security staff, there will be refreshments available as well.
