Repairs needed to fight flood

CLARKESVILLE, MO. -- UPDATED: April 27 at 2:05 p.m.

Pieces of a flood wall in Clarksville, Missouri are missing, after they floated down river.

Severe storms blew sections of the constructed flood wall into the Mississippi damaging the flood fighting affect of the temporary wall.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released photos of the tornado that hit the area on April 19th.  The tornado actually split into four separate funnels as it went across the flood wall and over the water. (See photos)

City leaders say they will resort to sandbagging and other efforts to secure downtown locations.

Water covers highway 79 leading into Clarksville. A crest is expected again on Friday at 32 feet.

The river reached 38 feet during the flood of 2008.

KHQA will bring you more details on this and local flooding, so check this story later and watch KHQA's News at Five, KHQA's Evening News at 6 p.m. and KHQA's Late News at 10 p.m.
