Quincy city officials and community leaders met Thursday morning for the Mayors breakfast to kick off the National Day of Prayer.
Quincy's Salvation Army hosted the annual event.
At 6:30 p.m., the community will gather for a moment of prayer at Quincy City Hall.
In Hannibal, an event was held at 11 a.m. at the 5th St. Baptist Church.
As our communities and the world are dealing with tough situations, community leaders say that now is the time to come together and support our nation.
They are encouraging everyone to just take a minute and pray.
