The Pike County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of possible narcotics violations occurring at a business property owned by the North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC).

NECAC is a not-for-profit community action agency who manages and delivers an abundance of social service, community health and public housing programs to the low-income, elderly, youth, handicapped and disadvantaged through contracts and grants with federal, state and local governments, other not-for-profit agencies and private businesses.

A Pike County Canine Deputy responded to the NECAC workshop located at 619 Champ Clark Drive, and met with a supervisor.

The Deputy deployed his K-9 and checked NECAC company vehicle’s on the premises.  After checking company vehicles on site, the dog alerted to the presence of narcotics inside one of the company trucks.

During an interior search of the vehicle, the Deputy located two bags of marijuana and smoking paraphernalia.

Bowling Green Police Department rendered assistance during the investigation.

Two NECAC employees were arrested as a result of the investigation.

Benjamin Norman, a 26-year-old white male from Troy, MO., and Brian Crump, a 31-year-old white male from O’Fallon, MO., were taken into custody without incident.

Norman and Crump were issued summonses for Possession of Marijuana, booked into the Pike County Jail, and released with a return court date of 6/15/11.
