MACOMB, ILL. -- SEDAC conducted an energy assessment of the police station and fire stations in Macomb, Ill. with recommendations specific to city buildings on Wednesday.

The Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (SEDAC) provides free energy advice and technical services to private and public facilities in the State of Illinois.

Priority for such energy assessments is given to applicants who are ready to implement energy recommendations.  The assessment included a list of recommended energy cost reduction measures (ECRMs) for buildings.

Macomb joined with SEDAC in order to create community revitalization.

SEDAC staff walked through each property making observations and collecting data that will be used in development of a report complete with recommended energy cost reduction measures and suggested programs for funding assistance.

KHQA's Jim Whitfield was in Macomb Wednesday and he will bring you more details on this project, so check this story later and watch KHQA's Late News at 10 p.m.
