PALMYRA, MO. -- A Tri-State company that's been in business for 60 years is expanding.
Doyle Manufacturing plans to build a new, 200 thousand square foot building north of Palmyra this fall.
The company broke ground Friday and even governor Jay Nixon was on hand to help. But that isn't the only help the company is getting from the state.
This project was made possible thanks to one-and-a-half million dollars in economic incentives.
"They've been looking for a number of years and as we mentioned in here, as we were talking beforehand, the last couple of years have been very, very busy. I mean, you have to put together a competitive economic incentive package to get companies to move. It has to be a smart decision for their bottom line, as well as for us," said Nixon.
Doyle Manufacturing makes fertilizer equipment that's distributed worldwide.
This new facility will employ 92 people. Monty Doyle is the president of the company.
He says this expansion is a testament to the employees.
"If it wasn't for the people who work in my facilities both at Doyle Manufacturing and Riverview and my sales staff across the United States and parts of the world, we wouldn't be here today. So it's not about one person. It's all about the team and we are team players," said Doyle.
Doyle says the construction will start this fall and should be up and running by the spring of 2012. The company already has a facility east of Palmyra.
That will stay open until the new plant opens.
