One group wants to invite you to the Mississippi River at Quincy this weekend for a little camaraderie and outdoor recreation .... all while supporting veterans.

Volunteers met Tuesday night at The Dock for some last minute planning of an event called, "Fishing for Freedom."

Some of the best bass anglers in the area will be paired up with wounded veterans from throughout the country for a day of tournament on the Mighty Miss.

The Fishing for Freedom Quincy organization pays for the veterans to travel to Quincy.

The group is auctioning off a number of items to help pay for the event, including this U.S. Flag that flew over of Saddam Hussein's palaces earlier this month.

75 soldiers from 14 states will travel to Quincy for the event.

Tickets are on sale now for $20 at the Oakley Lindsay Center & Butcher Block locations.
