An early Tuesday morning attic fire is blamed on a lightning strike.
ADAMS COUNTY, ILL. --
The Tri-Township fire department responded to a call at  7608 White Oak Road Tuesday morning.

Smoke could be seen from the outside but no visible flames when fire crews arrived.

Firefighters had to tear through the ceiling in order to get to the fire which was contained to the attic space.

The house has major water damage but fortunately the fire was prevented from spreading anywhere else in the home.

The owners were home at the time.  No injuries were reported.
