Flooding at Mill Creek
 / KHQA's Jim Whitfield
It could take all summer to fix some local roads washed out by heavy rainfall.
Heavy rain over night was too much for some county roads and part of the blacktop road between Paloma and Quincy Regional Airport in Adams County collapsed overnight.
With 6 to 8 inches of rain falling quickly, it proved to be too much for the pipe under the road. Gilmar Township road commissioner quickly closed the road just south of JR's Repair.
With all this rain, Richard Johnston says this was bound to happen. Johnston said it could take all summer to fix it.
KHQA's Jim Whitfield had to find his way around Mill Creek on Tuesday, too.
Just east of Scottie's Fun Spot on IL 104 near Quincy, Mill Creek has overflowed it's bounds and taken out a small bridge.
KHQA will have more details about the Mill Creek area later Tuesday.
