In our Facebook Story of the Day for June 21, we find out what caused the dirty rain Monday.

QUINCY, ILL -- You may have noticed that your car was a little dirty Monday after the rain.

We called the National Weather Service in St. Louis and they said that it's dust in the air.

The dust can be in the clouds.

Then it attaches itself to each rain molecule.

When the rain falls, it leaves behind a reddish brown mark on your car.

The dust from Monday's rain is from the severe drought in Texas and Oklahoma.

While we might not see it here very often it does happen.
