MONROE CITY, MO. -- You might recall the First Baptist Church in Monroe City was destroyed by a tornado five years ago.

That newly built structure appeared to be untouched by Mother Nature Monday, but the same can't be true for other parts of Monroe City.

A plane was shoved outside of a hangar at the Monroe City airport.

We spoke with the owner of that plane who lives in Paris, Missouri.

He told KHQA it was a 1962 Cessna anniversary edition.

Owner Gale Wilkerson said, "Planes are made to fly when you have wind velocities that clocked through here last night. That's probably what it tried to do. We are very fortunate we don't think anyone was hurt in this."

This fireworks stand south of Monroe City also was wiped out by Mother Nature.
