UPDATED: July 13 at 12:15 p.m.
The Hannibal Street Department will not pick up limbs placed curbside from the recent storm. City crews will concentrate on the removal of debris from utilities and utility lines.
Residents can take their limbs to the Compost Lot located at 7th and Collier. The lot will be opened extended hours, including Saturday and Sunday, to accommodate the public.
-------------
The good news Wednesday, July 13th is that most of the damage and power outages have been taken care of.
But we do have two notices to pass on to viewers this morning.
There are still reports of some limbs down in several areas of Pike County, Missouri so drivers need to be careful.
Also ... Ralls County reports that tree limbs fell on power lines at Carrs Lane and Monkey Run trail.
Drivers need to be especially careful at Monkey Run trail because at last report the tree was still leaning against the wire hanging somewhat over the roadway.
The city of Hannibal still has approximately 1,000 residents without power. We'll bring you more information when we get it.
