PALMYRA, MO. -- Residents in Palmyra still are cleaning up after the wind storm that hit there last week.
This neighborhood off Highway C is filled with houses with tarps on the roofs.
A big red barn that belongs to Shorti Garner and her husband also was hit hard.
She was at home with the kids in her daycare when the storm hit.
Garner says her house shifted from the wind.
She tried to remain calm as she took her kids into shelter.
Garner says, "What it sounded like to me was glass breaking and I guess it was everything hitting the house because all the guttering and the siding. It was just massively loud. And the louder it got, the louder I got singing and reading to the kids. They really didn't even know anything was going on."
Garner also says her trampoline was found in her neighbors field.
As the parents of the kids in her day care came to pick them up, they also brought her belongings they found in the lake across the street.
