APPANOOSE COUNTY, IOWA -- UPDATED: July 23 at 11 a.m.

Mr. George W. Pierce, age 85, of Delaware, whom was reported missing earlier, has been located. Tragically, Mr. Pierce was found dead on a rural farm in southwestern Davis County, Iowa.
 
Mr. Pierce was found at approximately 4:50 p.m. by a friend searching for Mr. Pierce.
 
No foul play is suspected in the death of Mr. Pierce and the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
 
The case is under investigation by the Davis and Appanoose County Sheriff's Office's with the assistance of the Davis County Medical Examiner and Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office.

Our sister station KTVO in Kirksville and Ottumwa reported that the Appanoose County Sheriff's Office needs your help Friday afternoon in locating 85-year-old George William Pierce.

Although Appanoose County is just outside our viewing area, we felt it was important to share nonetheless.  The area is near Centerville, Iowa which is about an hour and a half west of Farmington.

He was last seen July 21 at approximately 10:15 a.m. driving a 2010 red Nissan Versa while looking for farm properties in the Appanoose/Wayne County areas. The vehicle is bearing a Florida license plate 554XRQ.

Pierce was born on January 31, 1926. He is a white male with grey hair and blue eyes. He is around 5'10" and weighs 190 pounds.

Pierce is a diabetic and may be in need of medical assistance. He is a resident of Middletown, Del.
