Heat kills elderly Adams County woman

ADAMS COUNTY, ILL. -- UPDATE: July 25 at 11:40 a.m.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller reports the 90-year-old female lived on the north east side of Quincy.

He pronounced her dead on  July 23, 2011 at 4:49 p.m.

She was found in her residence with no air conditioning or fans.

Adams County coroner reports the county's first heat related death of the summer.

He says an elderly woman died in her home on the northeast  side of Quincy. This is the third confirmed heat-related death in the past couple of weeks.  You'll recall a Chapin, Illinois woman died last week. A New Canton, Illinois man also died of heat-related causes a couple of weeks ago.
