SAVERTON, MO. -- It looks like the company that is in line to continue pursuing the hydro electric project at Lock and Dam 21 in Quincy is going ahead with plans to get approved for the same type of project for Lock & Dam 22 south of Hannibal.

In their application to the Federal Regulatory Energy Commission, Hydro Friends Fund says the project is anticipated to produce 14 megawatts of electricity.

Hydro Friends Fund, is partnered with the company that is known as Hydro Green Energy.

This is the company that has been awarded the preliminary permit for Lock & Dam 21 in Quincy.

The filing date for the paperwork to be submitted to FERC is August 26th.

The legal notice published in the Pike Press newspaper says because there isn't an expected to be a major overhaul of the actual superstructure at the Lock & Dam, there isn't much of a impact on the environment.
