Quincy students locked down for about twenty-five minutes
QUINCY, ILL. -- Fireworks caused a lockdown a Quincy Junior High School Friday afternoon.
Some students in a physical education class, held outside, heard profanity being directed their way from across the street.
They also heard popping sounds but didn't know at the time they were fireworks.
School administrators put the building on lockdown at approximately 1:29 p.m., while police investigated.
Police determined the noise was fireworks and the all clear was given at 1:55 p.m.
