North Adams Home in Mendon, Ill. is facing hard economic times thanks to drastic reductions in both Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements to nursing homes.
The state of Illinois has announced that it will once again delay reimbursements for three to six months for the care that they have already provided to Medicaid residents.
These reductions and payment delays have negatively impacted North Adams Home by more than $100,000 annually.
The North Adams board of directors has determined that the nursing home must undergo staff reorganization and reduction, and that all departments will be involved in the plan.
A representative from the Home stated in a press release, "It is regrettable that our government is causing such difficulties when jobs are so precious."
