In our Facebook Story of the Day for September 8, we're talking about how you can make some big bucks if you're a hacker.
Hackers can do all kinds of damage online, so who would've thought that Facebook would invite them in?
Facebook announced a "bug bounty program" where they are paying hackers who report security holes on their social-networking website.
The compensation program will pay $500 or more for bugs that are reported ... and they have not set a maximum award at this time.
Facebook was sure to preface this call to action with: "If you give us a reasonable time to respond to your report before making any information public and make a good faith effort to avoid privacy violations, destruction of data and interruption or degradation of our service during your research, we will not bring any lawsuit against you or ask law enforcement to investigate you." Some of the biggest and best hackers have been hired by Facebook in their continuing efforts to keep the site safe for users. Read more about it here.
