QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy is gearing up for a tasty tradition this weekend.
The Quincy Exchange Club is holding its 5th annual Smoke on the River Barbeque event this Friday night and Saturday.
You can expect all your favorite BBQ action, but this year will add blues to the mix.
The event is teaming up with the Mid Mississippi Muddy Water Blues Society to bring back the annual Blue Fest this Saturday in conjunction with the Smoke on the River event.
There will be music throughout the BBQ event and into the evening hours of Saturday.
One of the organizers, Art Awerkamp, says it's a perfect way to wrap up the summer.
Awerkamp said, "We missed the blues fest in Washington park last year. So we thought that blues and barbeque are a perfect marriage."
There will be more than 30 participants in this year's Smoke on the River event which kicks off at 5p.m. at Kesler Park in Quincy.
