A Springfield Illinois man convicted of killing a rural Morgan County Illinois woman back in August of 2010 is headed to prison for the rest of his life.
Steven Pryer was arrested a few weeks after Dian Hoagland was found murdered outside her house near Alexander.
He was found guilty of first degree murder by a Morgan County jury earlier this year.
Authorities say Hoagland interrupted a burglary at her house when she was shot and killed.
Pryer was sentenced to life in prison because he has two previous murder convictions in Illinois dating back to 1982.

The Springfield Illinois man accused in the murder of a Morgan County woman last August was found guilty of murdering Diann Hoagland in August of 2010.
The jury deliberated for just over 2 hours before finding Steven Pryer guilty of first degree murder and residential burglary.
You'll remember that Diann Hoagland was shot and killed just outside of her home after she interrupted a burglary.

Maria Nagle with MyJournalCourier.com wrote "He faces a term of natural life imprisonment because he was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of David and Mary Davidson in Sangamon County in 1982. He was released from prison Aug. 22, 2002, after serving nearly 20 of the 40 years imposed, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections."
Pryer will be sentenced on November 1.
