QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy family is safe and an arrest has been made after a fire started in the basement of a Quincy home Sunday evening.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews quickly contained the fire at 1414 N. 14th Street, but Quincy Police Department investigators were called in to evaluate the scene.

Items commonly used to manufacture meth were found in the area where investigators believe the fire started.

The Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Special Response Team helped conduct the criminal investigation that resulted in the arrest of Cody J. Starman, 29, for Aggravated Participation in Methamphetamine Production, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials, Possession of Methamphetamine waste, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
