QUINCY, ILL. -- Wednesday night's Quincy School Board meeting turned out to be much calmer than first expected.

Several parents were expected to turn out to Wednesday night's meeting to discuss a recent hazing incident involving freshman football players.

Before the those public comments got underway,  School Board President Bill Daniels read this statement: "I understand there may be some folks here this evening who wish to comment and ask questions relative to the incident involving freshman football players. On the advice of legal counsel, in order to be in compliance with the requirements of the Student Records Act, the school board respectfully declines to comment or answer questions on this matter."

Only one person ended up addressing the board -- the grandmother of one of the football players involved.

Jeannie Florea said, "I realize you're not going to answer any questions about the freshman thing, but does that include the coaches cause I want to know if that's going to go into effect that the coaches have to be in the locker room?"

Daniels reiterated that the school board could not answer her questions or address her concerns until the legal process is complete.

The Adams County States Attorney is filing charges against the Quincy Junior High students involved in the recent hazing incident at Flinn Stadium.

The names of the accused won't be released because they are under the age of 17.
