HANNIBAL, MO. -- The path to new sidewalks in Hannibal is getting more concrete.

The city and store owners on Main Street have met to discuss plans for the sidewalks that would spruce up the downtown area.

They've narrowed the options to two ... attempting to bring cost down.

We all know that there are many options for paving, some are just more expensive than others.

Basic concrete tends to be most cost effective, however, the plan now goes to the council for a final vote.

"The sidewalks are going in first. Then we will mill and overlay the asphalt street. Each of the Main Street intersections are going to have decorative crosswalks. We're going to have a treescape all the way down. It's going to be a whole new look for downtown Hannibal," said Hannibal city manager Jeff LaGarce.
