A judge has ruled a local toymaker will have to pay a Louisiana bank money it is owed. Mercantile Bank of Louisiana won a court judgment against Whittle Toy Company and owner Mike Whitworth.
The judge ruled the company breached a contract by not repaying principal and interest on two loans totaling one-point-one million dollars. Court records indicate the loans were made in August and October of 2006.

A Louisiana bank is suing a New London toymaker for just under a million dollars in loans it claims have gone unpaid.
Mercantile Bank of Louisiana is seeking a court judgment against Whittle Toy Company and owner Mike Whitworth.
The bank claims the company and its owner breached a contract by allegedly not repaying principal and interest of almost 938 thousand dollars on two loans totaling one-point-one million dollars.
Court records indicate the loans were made in August and October of 2006.
The company has denied the allegations and is asking that the lawsuit be dismissed.
