Pollen counts are still reasonably high, but they won't be for much longer.
TRI-STATE AREA -- Seasonal allergies are bad enough – coughing, sneezing, itching, congestion, and now there’s this thick, dingy dust on your patio and all over your car. It’s pollen!
Ragweed, trees, grass – all pollen producers. Levels are still reasonably high, and so this is why you may still be having issues of sorts.
Perhaps our biggest contributing factor of high pollen counts this fall is the lack of rainfall. Rain is essential for cleansing the air of pollen, and we’ve had so little rain since late June.
There is great news on two horizons for you though. Essentially, the pollen will be going away. The rain chances and amounts over the next day should be decent enough to lower the pollen count substantially over most of the viewing area. Also, over the next few weeks, as night-time temperatures occasionally sneak into the 20s – the pollen will be finished altogether. This is yet another reason to enjoy October and November, and certainly if you’re an outdoor allergy sufferer, being rid of seasonal pollen can be better than enjoying seasonal candy and turkey!.. –well, maybe not that great–
